Past Appearances of NQG Crew in Documentaries, Movies, Commercials, and What Not
True Caribbean Pirates - July, 2006
Look for both Jamaica Rose (Christine Markel Lampe as a commentator) and Michael MacLeod (Michael Lampe - as a reenactor) on "True Caribbean Pirates" - History Channel, originally aired July 9, 8 pm E/P, 2006)
Besides your hosts and editors of No Quarter Given, you'll spot many other contributors to No Quarter Given - amongst the commentators are authors and historians Gail Selinger, Richard Zacks, David Moore, and Benerson Little. Amongst the reenactors are Gerard "Jerry" Reyes, Louie Lambie, Kenneth "Slinky" Clifton, and the late Jon Rose, who have all contributed to NQG. Many others of the re-enactors are friends and shipmates.

The Princess Bride -- The Dread Pirate Roberts Edition - July, 2006
Look for Jamaica Rose (aka Christine Markel Lampe) in the special featurette on the Dread Pirate Roberts. Frequent NQG contributor Gail Selinger is also featured as a commentator. Same featurette is also on the "Buttercup Edition" (July 2006), but what self-respectin' pirate is going to choose that edition over the Dread Pirate Roberts edition?
Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl - July, 2003
Michael Lampe has a brief appearance as a British officer under Norrington's command. He is most easily spotted in the scene when Norrington is promoted and given his new sword. As Norrington is on the fort steps, Michael can be seen as the officer right behind Norrington's screen right shoulder.
Pirates of Treasure Island - June, 2006
Yes, this is a cheesy Asylum Productions film, but the shots of the pirate crew that include Michael and several other NQG contributors and friends (Jerry Reyes, Tony Kopec, Jon Rose, Dan McGrew, Rotten Rafael, and Goldie) aren't too shabby (until the giant bugs arrive anyway). Lance Henriksen makes a great Long John Silver (someone needs to give him a role as a pirate in a REAL movie).
Quest for Captain Kidd - June, 2001
As part of the filming for "The Quest For Captain Kidd" for The Discovery Channel & Compass Light (premiere broadcast was June 10, 2001), several West Coast pirates from the Port Royal Privateers, and friends, were hired to act as crew and other characters that Kidd encountered aboard the Adventure Galley. Michael Lampe not only appeared in this production (as one of the scurvy rogues on Kidd's crew), but was also the West Coast production manager. Behind the scenes story by Jamaica Rose.
Hook - June, 1991
Michael Lampe appears as one of Hook's crew. He spent six weeks in filming. He can be spotted briefly in many shots of the pirates. There was a long musical production of Smee parading Hook's new hook through and about the Pirate Town. Unfortunately, hardly any of this appears in the movie -- just the part of Smee getting the hook, and then going up the gangplank of the ship at the end of the parade. Michael would have been seen right behind the disguised Peter (Robin Williams) while carrying a large keg on his shoulder for most of the parade. We keep hoping they will come out with a Director's Cut of "Hook" and will include this part. Maybe with this recent popularity of pirates in film, they will see the advantage of this.
